Japan is a song by Irish band Fontaines D.C., featuring Grian Chatten, Carlos O'Connell, Conor Curley, Conor Deegan and Tom Coll. It is an album track on Dopamine Chamber, the band's fifth studio album, and it was released as a single with its official music video on October 16, 2026, the day the album was released, to mark the launch. For more on the band, see the Fontaines D.C. biography.
Dopamine Chamber follows Romance (2024), which was certified platinum in the UK, and was produced by James Ford and released via XL Recordings. The album was preceded by the singles Marianne and Tongue and by Where Is Gone?, the collaboration with Rosalia, and it was recorded between London, the English countryside and Palermo, where Chatten recorded vocals in a makeshift booth built from mattresses and cushions. Rolling Stone UK described Japan as one of the most beautiful songs Fontaines D.C. have ever recorded, in the label's album announcement.
