"Boston" sat at No. 4 for four straight weeks before surging to the top of the early-week reports, and the final standings will be revealed on Friday. If it holds, the single will give Stella Lefty her first UK No. 1. Got it on repeat? The full words are on our Boston lyrics page.
A "Boston" victory would dethrone Sienna Spiro's "Great Expectation," which drops to No. 2 in the midweek update after two consecutive weeks at the summit — more on the former chart-topper in our Sienna Spiro biography. It has been a huge week for Lefty all round: see how SNL roasts Stella Lefty's 'Boston' in a new sketch.
Elsewhere in the midweek singles chart, Noah Kahan's "Orbiter" climbs 16 places to No. 6, while Jamie Miller's new version of "Babydoll," featuring Off Campus actor Antonio Cipriano, rockets 17 spots to No. 7 — his first Top 10. Dua Lipa's "Training Season" rises to No. 4, Olivia Dean's "Man I Need" is at No. 5, and Olivia Rodrigo's "The Cure" lands at No. 9. Sixteen-year-old Freya Skye scores the week's
highest new entry with "bad taste" at No. 15, ADÉLA's "Nicole Kidman" eyes a new peak of No. 13, and Cloonee's "Good Girl" enters at No. 30 for a Top 40 debut.
The Beatles' "Rubber Soul" expanded reissue — released October 2, 2026, and mixed by Giles Martin and Sam Okell — leads the midweek albums race. The set gathers 24 session recordings, including 20 previously unreleased takes and three home demos, among them John Lennon's "Little Girl." If it holds on, the album returns to UK No. 1 for the first time since 1966, when the original spent eight consecutive weeks at the top, and it would become the band's first UK No. 1 album since the "Abbey Road" special edition in 2019. The closest challengers are Blossoms, whose "Songs From The Wedding Cake" would earn them a fifth No. 1 album.
