Out today, October 9, 2026: Dawn Richard has released her new studio album Creole Culture via Merge Records. The 11-track record is her first solo album since Second Line (2021) and completes a trilogy that began with New Breed (2019). Executive produced by Katalyst — the outfit founded by drummer and producer Greg Paul — the album runs 43:02 of Soul, Funk and R&B, with guest appearances from Big Freedia, Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph, Tarriona “Tank” Ball, Durand Bernarr and Frank Richard of Chocolate Milk. Richard has framed the trilogy as a family story: “New Breed was the story of New Orleans through my father’s eyes, Second Line was my mom,” she said in an interview reported by music-world.es. Between those records, she recorded two collaborative albums with Spencer Zahn — Pigments (2022) and Quiet in a World Full of Noise (2024). One honest note for release day: as of October 9, 2026, all 11 tracks remain unconfirmed beyond the officially announced listing below, so treat the tracklist as the announced lineup.
