What to Know
Halfway 2 Jesus is Kid Rock's first faith-based project since Bad Reputation (2022). The reported standout "'Til You Can't" is a Cody Johnson cover with a new faith-forward third verse that debuted at No. 1 on Billboard Hot Christian Songs. The video for lead single "James 1:17 (Jesus Is King)," directed by Blake Judd, is dedicated to longtime keyboardist Jimmie Bones, who is battling ALS, and to young fan Kalvin Lynch, who has an inoperable brain tumor. Kid Rock has said he wants to write faith songs in his own musical language. For background on the album's biggest guest, see our Eminem biography.
