Foo Fighters join AC/DC tonight at MetLife Stadium — the rescheduled Power Up tour date after severe weather forced last Friday's postponement.
The show
Tonight, Friday, October 2, 2026, Foo Fighters open for AC/DC at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, closing out the North American leg of AC/DC's PWR/UP Tour. The show starts at 7 p.m., with doors at 5:30 p.m. To be clear: the Foos are the support act — they are not co-headlining.
AC/DC's own site confirmed the pairing: "AC/DC will be joined by the Foo Fighters at MetLife Stadium on Friday, October 2, for the rescheduled POWER UP Tour date… The show marks the second time Foo Fighters will join AC/DC, following their appearance together in St. Louis earlier on the POWER UP Tour."
All tickets from the postponed September 25 date will be honored tonight. Tickets were still on sale from $73 as of September 29.
Why it was postponed
The original date, Friday, September 25, was postponed just hours before showtime as a nor'easter brought severe wind warnings across the New York / New Jersey area. The call was made by public safety authorities in consultation with weather experts, with fan safety the priority.
The official postponement statement read: "Due to the severe wind warnings in place for the NY / NJ area this evening, the AC/DC concert at MetLife Stadium will not take place tonight. This decision was made by Public Safety authorities in consultation with weather experts to prioritize the safety of fans and all those involved in the show."
The Grohl connection
Dave Grohl has been open about what this pairing means to him: "All I have ever wanted was to someday live up to the awe inspiring fury of AC/DC, live on stage (an impossible task, by the way)… And now, for the first time since that fateful night in 1980, my band Foo Fighters will share a stage with the gentlemen who are single handedly responsible for my determination to give every audience everything I have, every night." He has called sharing a stage with AC/DC "literally a dream come true."
The Foos announced tonight's show themselves on social media on Tuesday, September 29: "Let there be rock @metlifestadium! See you October 2nd with @acdc!!!"
This is the second time Foo Fighters have stepped in for AC/DC on the Power Up tour. On September 8, 2026, they filled in at The Dome at America's Center in St. Louis with a "one-night-only" greatest-hits set featuring All My Life, The Pretender, Times Like These, My Hero, Monkey Wrench, Best Of You, and Everlong. This time around, the Foos replace tour opener The Pretty Reckless, who have festival commitments around the rescheduled date, including California's Aftershock festival.
Foo Fighters in 2026
The Foos are currently in the middle of their own Take Cover Global Stadium Tour, supporting their 12th studio album, Your Favorite Toy, released April 24, 2026 on Roswell/RCA — the band's first album with drummer Ilan Rubin.
