Tate McRae's new single "Housewife" has debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 dated October 31, 2026, the highest-charting single of her career as a lead artist. The song also opens at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and the Global Excl. U.S. chart, making it her first song to debut on top of both global rankings.
Released on October 15, 2026 via RCA, "Housewife" is the lead single from McRae's forthcoming fourth album, which has no title or release date yet. The strong first week, driven by streaming around the world, gives the singer's new era a record-breaking start. You can read more about her rise in our Tate McRae biography.
The Chart Debut
On the Hot 100 dated October 31, 2026, "Housewife" debuts at No. 2, passing the No. 3 peaks of "Greedy" and "Tit for Tat" to become McRae's highest-charting single as a lead artist.
The debut is even bigger on the global charts. "Housewife" enters at No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and the Global Excl. U.S. chart. It is her second No. 1 on both rankings, after "Greedy", and her first to debut on top of either list.
The song drew 55.9 million worldwide streams and 6,000 downloads in the tracking week of October 16-22. In the United States, it collected 22.9 million streams and a 12.7 million radio audience. It also debuts at No. 1 on Streaming Songs, her first No. 1 on that chart as a lead act.
Why No. 2 in the US and No. 1 Globally
The gap between the US and global results comes down to radio. In the US, "Housewife" had more streams than the week's No. 1, but it lost the top spot to Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas", which reached 58.6 million in radio audience against 12.7 million for "Housewife". You can read the words to the chart-topper in our Choosin' Texas lyrics Ella Langley post.
Globally, where streaming leads the way, "Housewife" faced no such obstacle. Its 55.9 million worldwide streams carried it to No. 1 on both global charts, and its Streaming Songs No. 1 in the US underlines how much of its first-week impact came from on-demand listening.
