Album of the Year: The Two-Olivia Race
According to early predictions reported by Variety in early November 2026, the Album of the Year race is shaping up as a contest between two Olivias: Olivia Dean with The Art of Loving and Olivia Rodrigo with You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love. These are predictions and contenders, not nominees. No nominations are confirmed until the announcement on November 16.
Also in the field, according to the same prediction coverage, is Taylor Swift with The Life of a Showgirl album — Taylor Swift, alongside RAYE, Noah Kahan, Bruno Mars with The Romantic, Brandi Carlile and Rosalia.
Dean's rise has been one of the stories of the eligibility period. Read the Olivia Dean biography for her story so far, and hear the single that leads her album in the video below.
Elsewhere, according to reports, Nigerian stars Davido, Tems, Asake, Ayra Starr and Victony have submitted work for consideration. A submission is not a nomination, and none of these entries is confirmed as nominated until November 16.
