Early Life
Morgan Wallen was born to Tommy Wallen, a church pastor, and Lesli Wallen, a teacher. He grew up alongside two younger sisters, Ashlyne and Mikaela, and began singing in his father's church at the age of three. As a child he took piano and violin lessons, and at Gibbs High School in Knoxville he played baseball as a pitcher and shortstop. A torn ulnar collateral ligament in his senior year ended his baseball hopes, and at 18 he taught himself to play the guitar.

His debut EP, Stand Alone, arrived on August 24, 2015, followed by his debut single "Spin You Around", and he co-wrote Jason Aldean's "You Make It Easy". His four studio albums are If I Know Me (2018, featuring "Whiskey Glasses" and "Chasin' You"), Dangerous: The Double Album (January 2021, the first country album to spend its first seven weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200), One Thing at a Time (March 3, 2023, with 19 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 and "Last Night", which topped the Hot 100 and finished as Billboard's 2023 Year-End Hot 100 No. 1), and I'm the Problem (2025, the year's biggest Billboard 200 debut, placing 37 songs on the Hot 100 at once). In 2024, "I Had Some Help" with Post Malone became the first song ever to debut simultaneously atop the Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs. His honors include 14 Billboard Music Awards, ACM Album of the Year for Dangerous, and CMA Entertainer of the Year in 2024.
