Lisa — the Thai superstar of BLACKPINK — has grown into one of pop's most commanding solo forces. From record-breaking years with her group to running her own company, releasing a debut studio album, acting on The White Lotus and becoming the first K-pop act to headline a Las Vegas residency, her story keeps getting bigger. Here is everything to know about her age, career, songs and facts.
Early Life
Born: Lalisa Manobal — originally Pranpriya Manobal — on March 27, 1997, in Buriram, Thailand. She later legally changed her first name on a fortune teller's advice. At just 13, she auditioned for YG Entertainment in Thailand, passing as the sole successful applicant out of thousands, and moved to South Korea to begin training.
BLACKPINK
Debut: Lisa debuted with BLACKPINK in August 2016 under YG Entertainment, alongside Jennie, Rosé and Jisoo. She is the group's main dancer, lead rapper, sub-vocalist and maknae (youngest member). Together they have sold more than 20 million records and collected over 40 billion streams worldwide, becoming one of the best-selling girl groups in history.
Solo Career
Breakthrough: Lisa launched her solo career in September 2021 with the single album Lalisa, featuring the tracks "Lalisa" and "Money". She then teamed up with DJ Snake, Ozuna and Megan Thee Stallion on "SG" (2021). In February 2024 she founded her own management company, LLOUD, and in April 2024 she signed with RCA Records. Her solo singles "Rockstar" (June 2024), "New Woman" featuring Rosalía (August 2024) and "Moonlit Floor" (October 2024) built the road to her debut studio album Alter Ego, released February 28, 2025 via LLOUD/RCA — including "Born Again" with Doja Cat and RAYE.
Acting
Debut role: Lisa made her acting debut as Mook in Season 3 of HBO's The White Lotus (2025), set in Thailand. Next up, she stars in the upcoming Netflix action film Extraction: Tygo alongside Ma Dong-seok and Lee Jin-wook, with a Netflix romantic comedy also on the way.
2026: Press Play, Vegas and Always Lalisa
Milestones: Lisa made her solo Coachella debut on the Sahara stage and performed at the Oscars in 2025. Her "SaWaDiKa" music video earned 70.8 million YouTube views in its first 24 hours and entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 69. On October 23, 2026, she released her first solo EP Press Play — six tracks: "SaWaDiKa", "V12", "Cobra", "Tarantino", "Cut U Off" and "Sweat" — via LLOUD/RCA, with the "Tarantino" music video (directed by James Mackel) premiering the same day on the LLOUD Official YouTube channel. This November she headlines VIVA LA LISA, a Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace — the first K-pop act to headline a Vegas residency, with six sold-out nights. Her documentary Always Lalisa, directed by Sue Kim, premiered at TIFF, ran in limited theaters from October 12 and then streamed on YouTube Premium. She now counts 105 million Instagram followers — and in a smaller October 2026 move, she teamed with PlayStation on a "Tarantino"-themed controller.
In an interview on Jake Shane's Therapuss podcast released 29 October, she discussed first-night jitters for her VIVA LA LISA residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace (six shows: 12-14 November and 27-29 November), the "SaWaDiKa" single, and her Labubu obsession. She also released the six-track EP "PRESS PLAY" on 23 October.
