DESERVE LYRICS - BABYMONSTER

DESERVE marks a striking new chapter for BABYMONSTER. The seven-member YG Entertainment group has traded its signature high-energy hip-hop and dance sound for an emotional pop ballad, revealing a softer and more vulnerable side that listeners have not heard from the group before.

Released on October 23, 2026, at 1 PM KST, DESERVE became an instant viral moment: the official music video raced past 10 million YouTube views in roughly 20 hours and topped YouTube's trending charts in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Japan and New Zealand on release day, confirming BABYMONSTER's global pull.

About DESERVE

YG executive producer Yang Hyun Suk introduced the track as "a slow song, but one that carries more intense energy than any song" BABYMONSTER has released so far, adding that it captures "peak emotion through BABYMONSTER's delicate vocals and powerful singing," according to YG's official statement.

Musically, the single is a pop ballad built on lyrical synth melodies and a retro mood - a clear departure from the group's hip-hop and dance roots. Its theme looks back on past memories while wishing an ex-partner well, and the members described it as "a style of music we have never shown before... a more mature side of us."

"DESERVE" is BABYMONSTER's fifth release of 2026, following June's "SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA". Readers can also explore our BLACKPINK biography, the Rose BLACKPINK biography and the Jungkook biography for more artist deep-dives.
