The single arrives with a black-and-white music video directed by Cox himself. Fans have waited years for new material under the Atlas Sound name, and "Octoberland" delivers it with a release timed for Halloween night.
About Octoberland
"Octoberland" is the new single from Atlas Sound, the solo project of Deerhunter frontman Bradford Cox. Released October 31, 2026 through 4AD, the track comes with a black-and-white music video directed by Cox himself.About a month before the release, Cox played the Making Time festival in Philadelphia — his first live show in seven years — where he performed eight brand-new, previously unheard songs, one of which is believed to be "Octoberland." Per Far Out Magazine, the song's lyric themes lean into eerie, nocturnal imagery: the write-up describes witches burning and a virus that takes flight every night — a fittingly haunted mood for an October 31 release.
The 2027 Festival Run
No album has been announced yet — "Octoberland" stands alone for now. But Cox has confirmed a run of 2027 festival appearances as Atlas Sound: Big Ears Festival in Knoxville on April 1, Kilby Block Party in Salt Lake City on May 14, and Primavera Sound in Barcelona on June 3. He will be performing with fellow Deerhunter member Lockett Pundt, who records as Lotus Plaza.Watch the Official Video
