Alterations:
Flavoring – Taste your cookies as per liking. Almonds, mint, orange, or any other extract could be used if you don’t have vanilla in this recipe.
Colors – You can alter the color of your Christmas tree colorings. Turquoise, pink, or other vibrant shades will look just amazing!
Powdered sugar – Instead of sprinkling, you create a star from the top and you can use the powdered sugar to make it look like ice.

Eggs – Make sure the eggs remain at room temperature before they are whipped.

Food coloring – Gel food coloring is what I like to add, and you can even prefer light or dark green for this recipe.
Vanilla – Meringue cookies are best to add some warm, sweet flavor.
Cream of Tartar – This ingredient is needed to make them fluffy stand tall!
Spraying – Sprinkling is done to marinade cookies into a festive Christmas tree. You can use some clear and gold splashes to decorate the top of the tree to look like light and stars. Rainbow nonpareils can be used for you to use too!
CHRISTMAS TREE MERINGUES
Christmas tree meringues are full of light and best as Christmas cookies. Plus, you can make them very simply with just 6 simple ingredients!

INGREDIENTS
4 egg whites, room temperature
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
green gel food coloring
1 cup granulated sugar
⅛ teaspoon cream of tartar
festive sprinkles, for decorating
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat the oven to 225 F and get it ready. Line up a baking sheet using parchment paper and set it aside.
You can use the hand mixer or stand mixer which has a fitting whisk attachment for whipping the eggs whites on medium-high speed until they become foamy.
Put the cream of tartar. Then pour some sugar gradually, mix them well with each addition. Keep whipping on high till the stiff peaks are created.
Stir the vanilla and drop some drops of green gel food coloring. Put extra food coloring as needed until you get a vibrant shade of green.
Spoon it into a piping bag that has a fitting large star or closed star tip. Pipe it onto the prepared baking sheet in swirls to make little tree shapes. Immediately sprinkles to make trees look much pretty.
Bake it for 1 hour, turn over your baking sheet halfway through. When the baking is finished, turn off the oven but don’t open up the door. Remove the meringues in the oven to the point they are cooled completely (1-2 hours).
