Macaulay Culkin's Home Alone Australia tour has been cancelled, scrapping the entire four-show run that was due to play from November 24 to 30, just weeks before opening night. The actor's camp cited a scheduling conflict, and all ticket holders will be refunded automatically for every screening.
What Happened
The run — announced in mid-September 2026 and reported by ScreenHub on September 17, and by Melbourning and Happy Mag on September 16 — was billed as the first Australian run of the format: a full screening of Home Alone followed by a moderated live interview with Culkin and an audience Q&A, with limited VIP photo-op tickets on offer.
Presale opened on September 21 ahead of general sale on September 23. General admission tickets ranged from $106 to $179, with VIP meet-and-greet packages from $399, according to Wisevoter and Ticketek.
The cancellation was announced on October 29-30, 2026. In a statement to Variety Australia, the actor's camp said: "Due to a scheduling conflict, A Nostalgic Night with Macaulay Culkin following a screening of 'Home Alone' has been cancelled. Refunds will be automatically issued at the point of purchase. We apologise for any inconvenience."
RealityTea described the shows as sold out, though no other outlet has confirmed that figure.
Dates cancelled:
- Tue November 24, 2026 — Brisbane, Fortitude Music Hall (Ticketmaster AU lists the show as "Cancelled")
- Fri November 27, 2026 — Melbourne, Regent Theatre (confirmed by the Marriner Group, per Poptopic)
- Sun November 29 and Mon November 30, 2026 — Sydney, Enmore Theatre — two shows (Ticketek's Sydney notice confirms 29-30 November Enmore)
Why It Matters
This was the first time the format had been brought to Australia, pairing the beloved 1990 film with a rare live appearance by its star. With no replacement dates announced anywhere, per Poptopic, fans should not expect the shows to be rebooked.
On refunds, the news is straightforward. Ticketek says all tickets — including refundable-ticket purchases, VIP upgrades, parking and bar vouchers — will be automatically refunded in full to the original payment method. Ticket holders are advised to check their email, and no action is needed, according to Wisevoter.
