About the Album

Volatil is the 12th studio album of French singer Zazie, the stage name of Isabelle de Truchis de Varennes, born April 18, 1964, in Boulogne-Billancourt, France. The album was born around an upright piano, and its songs move between pop, electro textures and string arrangements.

Several songs carry a clear message: "Y'a plus d'saisons" addresses feminicides, while "Qu'est-ce que tu nous chantes?" takes on body image. "Peu importe", the lead single (Peu Importe lyrics by Zazie), reunites her with electro artist Yuksek, with whom she had already worked on 2018's Essenciel.

Most of the songs were written by Zazie herself alongside longtime collaborators. Per the Deezer credits, Jean-Pierre Pilot co-wrote across the album, Olivier Schultheis co-wrote tracks 2 and 3, Philippe Paradis co-wrote track 8, Edith Fambuena co-wrote tracks 9 and 13, and Jean-Luc Léonardon co-wrote track 11. The album cover was photographed by Laurent Seroussi.

A 2027 France tour has been announced, with a spring leg followed by a Zéniths/Arenas autumn leg. According to reports, SFR mentions around 40 dates for the spring leg, while Gala reports around 30 dates from March 13 to October 17, 2027, including the Olympia on June 9 and the Zénith de Paris on September 30 — no definitive total has been confirmed.
