Early Life

Kevin Richard Parker was born on January 20, 1986, in Sydney, New South Wales. He grew up in Perth, Western Australia, where he began writing and recording his own music as a teenager. In 2007, Parker conceived Tame Impala in Perth, releasing early EPs before his debut album arrived in 2010.

Career

Tame Impala released its debut album, Innerspeaker, in 2010. Its follow-up, Lonerism (2012), earned a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album. Currents (2015) won ARIA Album of the Year, while "Let It Happen" won APRA Song of the Year in 2016, the same year the act picked up Best International Group at the BRIT Awards. The Slow Rush followed in 2020.
