RALPH SIEGEL SUBMITS DSCHINGIS KHAN REBOOT FOR GERMANY'S EUROVISION 2027 SELECTION

Dschingis Khan composer Ralph Siegel wants back into Eurovision — and the song he has submitted for Germany's 2027 pre-selection is one he says came to him while he was in a coma.

Siegel revealed the news in an interview with Bunte, confirming the submission with the words: "We have just submitted our application. Now we are very curious."

According to the composer, the melody came to him during a medically induced coma — a revelation that follows his recent serious illness. Siegel spent months in hospital undergoing treatment before making his recovery, and now the song born from that experience could mark his return to the contest.

He described the track as "something relatively ambitious", adding that he hopes "the jury sees it the same way."

For now, the song's status remains unconfirmed: broadcaster SWR has not confirmed receipt of the submission, and the German selection remains pending. It has not been accepted into the pre-selection at this stage.

Siegel has also previously announced a "next generation" of Dschingis Khan, set to tour Germany in 2027.

His most recent entry was San Marino's "Spirit of the Night" in 2017.
