American R&B singer-songwriter Joyce Wrice returns with her sophomore studio album, Machiko (stylized MACHIKO), arriving October 9, 2026, via BMG Records. Named after her Japanese middle name — given to her by her mother — the title means "city girl" in Japanese and symbolizes boundless hope. Wrice, who debuted with 2021's Overgrown and followed it with the 2022 Motive EP, has surpassed 180 million global streams across her catalogue, with appearances on NPR Tiny Desk, COLORS, Roots Picnic and Day N Vegas. The new project is led by singles including "Fly (Someone You Love)" featuring SALIMATA, and finds the singer declaring: "I'm not heartbroken and jaded anymore. This era is about living fully, confidently, and fearlessly."
