The reissue was announced on July 29, 2026, after a social media teaser campaign. The new stereo and Dolby Atmos mixes were made by Giles Martin and Sam Okell from the original four-track session tapes, using de-mixing technology developed by Emile de la Rey's team at WingNut Films.

The Super Deluxe edition is available as a 5LP set — pressed on 180-gram vinyl, half-speed mastered, and including a bonus 7-inch single — and as a 4CD set. Both come with an 88-page hardbound book featuring an introduction by Paul McCartney and a foreword in John Lennon's words, housed in a slipcase. A 2LP/2CD Special Edition pairs the new stereo mix with 16 singles, demos and session highlights across 30 tracks. There are also standard 1LP and 1CD editions, a Blu-ray with the Dolby Atmos and hi-res stereo mixes plus the "Day Tripper" and "We Can Work It Out" promo clips, and a Zoetrope picture-disc LP sold via thebeatles.com.

US pricing was reported by Analog Planet on July 30, 2026: the 5LP Super Deluxe is $229.98 ($235.98 with posters and cards), the 4CD Super Deluxe is $149.98 ($159.98 with posters and cards), the 2LP is $39.98, the 2CD is $24.98, the standard 1LP is $29.99, and the 1CD is $18.98. UK/Europe pricing is unconfirmed.

"Michelle (Take 1)" was released digitally on announcement day as the set's preview track.

Originally released on December 3, 1965, Rubber Soul was the band's sixth studio album. Recorded in about four weeks across October and November 1965, in the wake of the Shea Stadium concert, it reached No. 1 in the US and UK and has been certified 6x Platinum in the US by the RIAA.
