Ranbir Kapoor was born on 28 September 1982 in Mumbai to actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh. He studied filmmaking at the School of Visual Arts in New York and the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute before assisting director Sanjay Leela Bhansali on Black (2005).

Career and Breakthrough

Kapoor made his acting debut with Saawariya (2007). His breakthrough came with Wake Up Sid (2009) and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (2009), followed by acclaimed performances in Rockstar (2011), Barfi!
